One of the primary roles of Vitamin K2 is to regulate calcium and guide it out of soft tissues like arteries to bones and teeth, where it should be.
Purely K is a synergistic blend of three forms of Vitamin K:
K1 or Phylloquinone
K2 in MK-4 form called Menaquinone-4
K2 in MK-7 form called Menaquinone-7
Each one has their strengths and weaknesses. Most vitamin K supplements will contain only K2, only in the MK-7 form, or in too small of amounts to have a substantial effect on the body.
K1, or phylloquinone, activates proteins in your blood that allow clots to form. When you see the green color in plants, you're seeing phylloquinone. It acts in plants like COQ10 does in humans to allow them to produce energy. It has a similar structure to ubiquinone.
The RDA for K1 is 120 mcg for men and 90 mcg for women. We all know that the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) levels are set ridiculously low to support life but not robust health. One capsule of Purely K contains 500 mcg of K1.
K1 is especially important if one is on an animal-based diet and restricting vegetable consumption, which may be a good idea anyway with the rampant NPK fertilizer and tap water use. There is a very small amount in fruit but K1 is mainly present in green vegetables.
While the body can recycle K1 and dietary deficiency is rare, conditions such as intestinal malabsorption or liver disease can inhibit the recycling process. Prolonged bleeding, nose bleeds, easy bruising bleeding gums and heavy menstrual periods are all symptoms of a K1 deficiency.
Vitamin K1, sourced from evening primrose, is primarily included to support healthy blood clotting, which is useful if one is taking systemic enzymes or aspirin therapeutically. Both of those substances thin the blood so K1 from a good source is helpful to balance them.
MK-4 is the form of K2 that we naturally receive from animal foods, namely grass-fed beef, butter and pastured egg yolks. The organ meat liver contains the highest source of MK-4.
Purely K contains 1000 micrograms per serving. The amount used therapeutically in clinical studies is 4500 micrograms. If you consume a balanced diet that includes high quality animal foods, plus take two Purely K daily, it is easy to reach this number. Mammals can synthesize MK-4 from K-1.
Intake of MK-4 has shown to be neuroprotective and help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
MK-7 is the star of the show in Purely K. Exclusively found in fermented soy, or Natto, and aged cheese, this crucial nutrient is severely deficient in the majority of the western population.

K2 MK-7 has been shown to prevent and reverse arterial blockages, prevent heart attacks, increase bone density, prevent diabetes, reduce insulin production, reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease, prevent wrinkles, prevent varicose veins, and even increase energy production in the cells.
Vitamin K1 and K2 MK-4 has a shorter half life than K2 MK-7, meaning that with K2 MK-7, taking it on a regular basis will yield the best results.
WHY NO VITAMIN D WITH IT?!
This issue is the main reason why this product was created!
Supplementing Vitamin (hormone) D can cause more problems and counteract or negate the benefits you're getting from your K2 supplement. This is because vitamins, minerals and amino acids are all on a see-saw. Take one and you deplete or decrease the absorption of another.
As you can see, vitamin D antagonizes vitamin A and B3, two vitamins that are already low in many people. Vitamin D also increases your requirement for Vitamin K2.
While hormone D increases the benefits that you get from K2 activated proteins, it is playing with fire to supplement it. Taking vitamin D in a magnesium-deficient state (everyone) will increase calcification. You can't take enough K2 to keep up with the calcification! It is a vicious circle.
The solution is to get your Vitamin D from light, either sunlight if the UV index is high enough where you live, or from a light device if you live far away from the equator. It is much safer to get it from ultraviolet light than it is from a supplement.
The optimal dose is at least two capsules daily, either together or split up with a meal. Note: Consider the suggested dose on the bottle a typo! Vitamin K2 MK-7 is very safe to supplement as supported by the clinical research.
The median lethal dose (LD50) is north of 2000 mg per kg of bodyweight. That is 2,000,000 micrograms (mcg) per kilogram! This means that a person that weighs 150 lb would have to take 136,363,636 micrograms or 681,818 capsules of Purely K in one day to get up to a dangerous dose! You'd go broke first! Don't sweat and take your Purely K!

So I just realized that I had really bad tooth pain that I was supposed to get a root canal for in about 2 weeks but I started taking the purley K I've been taking it for about 3 days I don't know if it's the vitamin but I haven't been doing anything else I do not have tooth pain I am mind blown thank you for this product
I don’t know what it is about Purely K but if I don’t take it, I have a few teeth that ache. When I take it consistently, I feel like it’s healing something that’s going on in my mouth because the pain goes away.. If I fall off the wagon, my teeth hurt again. It’s crazy. So ... if it’s doing that, how much more is it healing in my body that’s running amuck. Anyway, this is my story that I wanted to share.
Loving this! I found out my daughter and I had some tooth decay issues and so I’ve been trying to incorporate into my daily routine and am noticing a difference. Im hoping to get less fillings when I go back to dentist. My daughter is a little Harder to be consistent with since I have to open the capsules up and add to liquid for her to take but I am believing it’ll be beneficial for the both of us!
We’re all different, and I appreciate that this is not a common reaction, but I wanted to share because I think it’s important to know that this might happen. I really wanted to give this supplement a go, and was excited to try it, but a few hours after taking I experienced nausea, dry mouth and other anxiety symptoms including insomnia that night. It lasted about 24 hours. I tried again just in case it was something else, but it wasn’t unfortunately. Guess I’ll just get my Ks from food 🙂
